My practice is underpinned by a humanistic framework in which I strive to offer all of my clients a safe, secure and warm place in which to explore their difficulties. You will be met with compassion, empathy and unconditional regard as we work towards achieving your goals. We will work collaboratively to help you develop an understanding of your difficulties before working on developing strategies to manage your distress and improving your well being. I use a holistic approach in my work and therefore look at all aspects of your well-being including your emotional, physical and relational worlds, taking into account any barriers these may present to you meeting your therapeutic goals. Having the benefit of training in a number of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person Centred Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy and Emotion Focused Therapy, I work in an integrative way so as to be able to tailor your therapy experience to your unique and individual requirements, allowing this to be a flexible process while we discover what will suit you best. Our therapeutic relationship is of the utmost importance to me and our initial work will focus on helping you and I to develop a safe, trusting and secure therapeutic relationship in which psychological change can occur.
I can work with you on a range of difficulties ranging from stress, anxiety and depression to eating disorders, trauma, self harm and suicidal ideation. I can work with you on an individual basis, or if you would prefer I can provide couples and family therapy. I offer both short term and long term psychological interventions and counselling and we will discuss this during the initial assessment process.
Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic and restrictions in place, I am now working exclusively via. Zoom. Whilst this can be initially off putting for some, I have found that this way of working is just as effective as face to face, whilst also providing more flexibility for clients.
I work with people across the lifespan including teens, adults and older adults. I work individually and within couples and families.
