I understand that seeking out help can be difficult and it can be a worrying time wondering if you and your therapist are going to get along. In the first instance I offer a brief a telephone or email consultation which is free of charge. During this consultation I will strive to gain an understanding of your difficulties and provide you with some information on how we might work together. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other a little without any obligation of ongoing therapy.
If you decide that you may like to work with me, then I will invite you to attend an initial assessment appointment which will typically last about 1 hour . This is appointment allows us ample time to explore your difficulties and begin developing a unique treatment plan to meet your needs; we will also review the other formalities related to our therapeutic relationship. Following from this we can agree on the frequency and nature of any ongoing psychological intervention and fees. While this assessment appointment is longer than a usual appointment, it is charged at the same rate as the hourly appointments. Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic and restrictions in place, I am now working exclusively via. Zoom. Whilst this can be initially off putting for some, I have found that this way of working is just as effective as face to face, whilst also providing more flexibility for clients. If you have any concerns at all, please get in touch to discuss these. Please note that I am not able to provide Crisis Services. Should you feel that you are unable to cope please contact your local crisis services or Samaritans. |
